Dive Types Isla Mujeres

Reef Dives.

Ideal for people with zero experience who wish to try scuba diving for their first time in very peaceful crystal clear waters or certified divers seeking for a safe and relaxed experience.

Our National Park is formed mainly by Manchones I, Manchones II, Atlantis and La Bandera, all of them are incredible coral reefs up to 15 ft (5 mts) high and full of life, monumets such as The Cross of the Bay created to honor the memory of all the people who dedicated their lives to the sea and more recently by the sculptures of the very visited and famous Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA), all of them located south of the island and with the best conditions for scuba diving. As a protected area it counts with location buoys, descending and ascending lines for better control over the immersion (important when dealing with beginners), minimum current, visibility under normal conditions up to 60 ft (20 mts) from diver to diver and a depth of only 30 ft (9 mts). Our reefs offer the opportunity to appreciate in a safe and relaxed environment the incredible amount of sea life that live there such as different kinds of turtles, nurse sharks, sting rays, lobsters, eels, crabs, octopus, squids, over a hundred different kind of tropical fish including the famous barracudas, huge porcupine fish, puffer fish, french angel fish, multicolor parrot fish and much more.

Adventure Dives.

Ideal for Advance Divers seeking for deeper or specialty dives (towards a certification).

As most of us know, sea life with bigger size enjoys two things, depth and current, for this Isla Mujeres offers dives to shipwrecks such as the Gun Boat C-58 and the Gun Boat C-55 both located in the area between Cancún and Isla Mujeres with a depth of 82 ft (26 mts), they are considered deep dives with moderate current in normal circumstances, this ships are home of an innumerable amount of big animals which you will be able to appreciate and photograph closely, big lobsters, green moray eels, huge barracudas, goliath groupers, cubera snappers, blue jacks, yellow jacks, stingrays and depending on the season you can be amazed by big groups of spotted eagle rays, logger head turtles, even different kind of sharks among many other things.

Also in this same area there are beautiful reefs suchs as Punta Sur, Punta Negra, Grampin and La Herradura, with 55 ft (18 mts) of depth approximately, they are considered drift dives, the closest thing to feel like flying, you only adjust your bouyancy and the current will take you for a ride almost without kicking parallel to a 6 ft (2 mts) high reef wall that seems like it never ends with beautiful formations and the possibility to see all the life already mentioned plus, depending on the season, black tip sharks, logger head turtles mating, even bottle nose dolphins, truly dives worthy of a documentary.

Night Dives.

To appreciate the magic of a night dive we give you the option of choosing between 1 or 2 tanks, one at dawn an other one at nightfall . Start enjoying from the boat watching the sunset over the Caribbean Sea. When the night starts falling we take our flashlights and we begin to explore the fascinating acuatic world. When submerged you will be able to see the contrast of the colors on the corals when they are illuminated with your artificial light and the behavior of the animals in total darkness, like lobsters crawling free out of the rocks, fascinating octopus hunting, squid changing colors, turtles in trance (sleeping), and the sensation of turning the light off for a while to witness the bioluminescence all over the reef.
